Biography
Martin Carrico is a born and raised Sacramento native, who graduated from El Camino High School in 1983, and went on to attend the University of Hawaii, Manoa, living and working all over the Hawaiian Islands and relocating in Sydney, Australia in 1987.

Martin enjoyed two years working aboard the SS Independence and the SS Constitution in the Hawaiian Islands for (American Hawaii Cruises) , before attending 18 months of culinary school and subsequent management training in Southern Maryland, then beginning a decade long, prosperous career as a civilian merchant marine.

Martin sports a resume’ of passport stamps from Brazil, Argentina, Venezuela, Thailand, Australia, Sri Lanka, Panama, Singapore, Korea, Okinawa, Gibraltar, and several countries in the Middle East including Egypt, Oman, United Arab Emirates, and numerous European stops, including Germany, Gibraltar, and England.

Martin has been through the Panama Canal 4 times, the Suez Canal twice, and dedicated a large part of his life working on the high seas, experiencing much of what the world offers.
An avid photographer and ‘blogger’, Martin is also a gifted and quite visceral linguist with an inherent tendency to agitate, but at the same time inspire.
Retiring as a full time merchant mariner in 1998, Martin immediately excelled in print media/advertising sales after his return to Northern California, spending 5 years working for the Los Angeles Times and AGI Publishing as an Account Executive and Advertising/Marketing consultant.
Martin is also certified in Google AdWords, with an impressive resume’ as an accomplished, independent content writer.
